What We Believe

Section 1. Authority of Scripture

The Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God and is the written record of His supernatural revelation of Himself to humanity. It is absolute in its authority, complete in its revelation, and final in its content. The Scriptures are therefore the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and conduct (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 19:7–11; Matthew 5:18).

Section 2. Adoption of the Baptist Faith and Message

This Church adopts the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) as its doctrinal statement. The Baptist Faith and Message serves as a summary of the Church’s understanding of biblical teaching but does not supersede the authority of Scripture, which remains the final authority in all matters of faith and practice (Acts 17:11; Psalm 119:105).

Section 3. Summary of Core Doctrinal Beliefs

Consistent with the Scriptures and the Baptist Faith and Message (2000), this Church affirms the following essential truths:

1. The Nature of God

There is one true and living God who eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are equal in power and glory and are worthy of the same worship and obedience (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

2. The Person and Work of Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became man through the virgin birth. He is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures, and rose bodily from the dead. He now reigns as Lord and will return personally, visibly, and bodily to judge the living and the dead (John 1:1–14; Matthew 1:23; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:11; Hebrews 9:28).

3. The Sinfulness of Humanity

All people are created in the image of God but have fallen into sin and are therefore spiritually lost, alienated from God, and incapable of saving themselves. As Scripture declares, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1–3).

4. Salvation by Grace Through Faith

Salvation is the free gift of God, received by grace alone through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. Those who trust in Christ have their sins forgiven, are justified before God, are born again by the Holy Spirit, and become children of God and new creations in Christ (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 5:1; John 1:12–13; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5).

5. The Work of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates sinners, indwells believers, and empowers them to live lives of holiness, obedience, and faithful service to Christ (John 16:8–13; Romans 8:9–11; Galatians 5:16–25; Acts 1:8).

6. The Christian Life and Mission of the Church

All believers are called to live in obedience to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Church exists to glorify God by worshiping Him, building up believers in the faith, proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples of all nations, and faithfully serving others in His name (Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 4:11–16; Colossians 1:28).

7. Resurrection and Final Judgment

Jesus Christ rose from the dead in the same body that was laid in the tomb. At the last day all people will be raised bodily from the dead. Believers will be raised to eternal life with the Lord, while those who reject Christ will face eternal judgment (John 5:28–29; 1 Corinthians 15:42–44; Philippians 3:20–21; Revelation 20:11–15).

Section 4. Biblical Marriage and Human Sexuality

We believe that God created humanity in His image as male and female and that marriage is the covenant union of one man and one woman. Marriage was instituted by God and is intended to reflect the covenant relationship between Christ and His Church. Therefore, any form of sexual activity outside of marriage between one man and one woman is contrary to God’s design and revealed will (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; Romans 1:24–27; 1 Corinthians 6:18–20; Ephesians 5:31–32).

Section 5. Supremacy of Christ

Jesus Christ alone is the head of the Church. All authority in the Church is exercised under His lordship and in submission to His Word (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22–23).
